Finding the perfect duvet to suit your needs can mean the difference between a deep, restorative sleep and a restless night.
We spend around a third of lives in bed and a deep, restful night’s sleep is the cornerstone to a happy and productive day ahead. With the proper aftercare, a good quality goose down and 100% organic mulberry silk duvets can last up to 25 years, and a synthetic filled one up to 6/7 years, so it’s worth investing in the best quality you can afford. And with everything from optimum tog rating to a variety of fillings, there’s a lot to consider, so it’s important to take some time to think about your sleep patterns to help you find the right duvet for you.

100% Organic Mulberry Inners
For centuries the Chinese have known the Health Benefits of Silk Bedding. We have only just begun to learn of the many wonderful properties of silk. Silk ticks all the boxes.
It has been known for centuries that silk is one of the best natural insulators. The silk worm has developed it’s cacoon to protect itself under harsh conditions.
Silk is one of nature’s strongest fibres, with a tensile strength comparable to steel. As such, silk is extremely durable and a good quality silk product, if cared for properly, will last many years.
Skin – Anti-Aging
Silk has Amino acids and cellular albumen ’the nearest thing to human skin known to man’ which counter the affects of aging and hydrate the skin. And contributes to the relief of joint pain, asthma, arthritis and insomnia.)
Your hair will in better condition, looking lovely and tangle free. This is due to less resistance and the amino acids.
Sleep soundly with no partner disturbance as the unique thermal qualities of silk means two can sleep comfortably at their own natural temperature.
Circulation is aided due to the lightness of silk. Silk duvets are generally a fraction of the weight compared to that of a similar warmth down or wool duvet. This lightness decrease discomfort felt by individuals suffering from arthritis and joint pain and allows for increased blood circulation.
The perfect solution for those suffering from asthma, eczema and other allergies. Silk’s protein structure makes it an inhospitable environment for dust mites, thus it is hypoallergenic and ideal for allergy and asthma sufferers.
No more night sweats or over heating at different times during the night.
Hungarian Goose Down Inners
One of nature’s most efficient insulator apart from pure organic silk, down is warm, yet light and lofty. Additionally, down has the marvelous ability to breathe, lifting away perspiration so you don’t experience the clamminess, which often occurs with synthetics.
Down is a three dimensional cluster of very fine filaments, with no quill shaft between them, and widely recognized as the world’s best insulation material. The larger the down the warmer the duvet and also the more lightweight it is.
Hungary is renowned for the quality of its down. Geese from this region grow large down clusters due to the extreme temperatures of the Hungarian winter. This fabulous duvet contains a blend of fluffy 90% white down and 10% small fine feathers, with many thousands more down clusters than feathers in the mix to create a lovely lightweight feel.
The duvet is encased in a 233TC cotton percale cover. This is stitched with box casing to ensure an even spread of filling, and with ‘baffle walls’ to improve loftiness by saving down and feathers from getting trapped in the seams. This range also comes in 60% white down and 40% small fine feathers for those who prefer a slightly heavier and more cost effective product.
Duck Down & Feather inners
This filling is a more economical option. Therefore the duvets will be slightly heavier than the pure down options. Consisting of a 50% Duck Down and 50% Duck Feathers, covered in 100% Cotton Down Proof 233TC. The down & feather is locked into place by baffled wall boxed cassettes to ensure fill remains evenly distributed.
Please note: Inners that contain less than 50% Duck Down or 80% Feathers have quills. Therefore are manly used as fillers in large comforters, or pillows. Can also poke you and be sharp to your skin. We use only white down and feathers. These sometimes feature spots of grey, and we leave these as nature intended.
Non-allergenic duvets contain fillings made of synthetic fibres, like hollow fibre and microfibre, or silk, which is naturally free of dust mites. All our non-allergenic duvets come with a 5 year guarantee.
Italian Premium Fine Fibre Inners
This duvet is ideal for winter. Fine Fibre duvets feel like the softest Goose Down and are an ideal alternative to down and feather duvets. Duvets mould to your body and are soft and luxurious just like a down duvet. Fine fibre duvets are quilted in our signature diamond pattern to ensure filling does not move during sleep.
Engineered in Italy our Fine Fibre Microfibre duvets feel like the softest Goose Down encased in 100% Cotton Downproof, ‘warmth without weight.’
This range also comes in a Moderate weight that is ideal for summer. Fine Fibre Microfibre products are light and airy yet warm and cozy. Fine Fibre Microfibre duvets are quilted in diamond formation to ensure there are no cold spots.
Synthetic duvets are inherently dust mite free, but make sure you choose one with a mite proof cotton cover.
A tog rating tells you how warm a duvet is. The higher the tog rating, the warmer your duvet inner.
Tog rating is based on a duvet’s ability to trap warm air. Natural duvets have better thermal properties than synthetic duvets, so they need less filling to achieve the same warmth.
A tog rating is given irrespective of filling. So a 9 tog natural duvet will be just as warm as a 9 tog synthetic duvet. It might just feel a little lighter.
Organic Silk duvets can’t be measured by tog rating because the fill is made of floss. Instead, their warmth is shown by weight in gsm (grams per square meter), but we’ll always give you a comparable tog value too.

What size duvet should I get?
The size of your bed will usually dictate the size of your duvet, with single through to super king size duvets made to fit the standard dimensions of their bed equivalent.
Buy your bedding in the same size as your bed and your duvet will cover you comfortably, but if you like extra coverage try buying the next size up (e.g. a single bed with a ¾ quarter duvet).

Duvets are filled, or quilted, and then stitched with box or diamond casing to ensure an even spread of filling. More premium duvets also have ‘baffle walls’, which improve loftiness by saving feathers and down from getting trapped in the seams. All our duvets are encased in a tightly woven mite proof cotton cover.
Most brands of natural duvet wash at up to 40°C. Ours can be machine washed and tumble dried at up to 60°C, which means dust mites really don’t have a hope.
While in theory you can wash and dry your duvets at home, we strongly recommend professional laundering because you need a very big machine to properly tumble dry them. Dust mites are killed at around 57°C.
Babies under 12 months
Babies under 12 months shouldn’t sleep with duvets, quilts or pillows.
Instead, we advise using a baby sleeping bag, which is difficult to kick off or slide down over their head. Choose 1 tog in summer and 2.5 tog in winter.
Children under 10 years
Young children should use a lightweight tog rating as their small bodies trap more air, making them much warmer than adults would be under the same duvet. A first duvet should be the lightest 3 or 4.5 tog. As a child grows, they may want a warmer 7.5 or 9 tog.
Children over 10 years
Older children may want a toasty warm 10.5 tog duvet, especially if their room is quite cold.
Help your child to regulate their own temperature by choosing a lower tog duvet and leaving a quilt or blanket, folded concertina style, at the bottom of the bed. That way, they can easily pull it up for extra warmth when they need it. In high summer, switch the duvet to a cool top sheet with a quilt or blanket.
Small bodies get hotter in bed than adult bodies
