This filing is a more economical option. Therefore the duvets will be slightly heavier than the pure down options. Consisting of a 50% Duck Down and 50% Duck Feathers. The down & feather is locked into place by baffled wall boxed cassettes to ensure fill remains evenly distributed.
Note that inners that contain less than 50% Duck Down or 80% Feathers have quills. Therefore are manly used as fillers in large comforters, or pillows. Can also poke you and be sharp to your skin. We use only white down and feathers. These sometimes feature spots of grey, and we leave these as nature intended.
Your duvets can be hand or machine washed or professionally dry cleaned.
Place the duvet into a large top loader machine with a small amount of mild liquid washing detergent and wash on a warm, gentle cycle so as not to stress the seams. Take care not to use any bleach or brightener as this strips the fabric of its protective downproof layer.
Do not use any fabric softener as this coats the down and prevents it from drying properly. Make sure that the duvet is rinsed thoroughly, this should take 2-3 rinses. The duvet can be dried in a tumble-dryer on a low heat, take it out of the dryer and shake a few times during the cycle. Use dryer balls (or clean tennis balls in a pillow case) to help beat the duvet as it dries, this prevents lumps forming. Make sure the duvet is completely dry before you put it back on your bed. Hang the duvet in the shade to air. Direct sunlight tends to make the down sweat which releases an odour. A small amount of shrinkage may occur as the cover is 100% cotton downproof. NEVER use plastic to store your duvet inner in.
